PlaceConnect Moderation Policy

1. Introduction

This Moderation Policy governs participant contributions to our digital platform known as https://placeconnect.statedevelopment.qld.gov.au/ (the platform). The platform is administered by the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning (the department) (‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’). The platform is provided by Social Pinpoint and procured by the department as a software as a service.

We moderate the platform to ensure it remains a valuable, safe, and secure environment where users can engage and interact without feeling intimidated.

The platform offers participation tools that enable users to post content, such as comments, images and files. This content may be visible to other site visitors. Social Pinpoint's moderation system works to keep participant contributions appropriate and respectful. It utilises both automated tools and human moderators to review content and identify any that is deemed undesirable. Social Pinpoint's moderators identify contributions that may violate the moderation rules. They will be escalated to the department's employees for consideration.

2. Moderation rules

  1. Content may not contain personal attacks on other participants, staff or public figures.
  2. Content may not intentionally or inadvertently disclose sensitive personal and/or confidential information about any other participants, staff or public figures.
  3. Content may not contain discriminatory language relating to the gender, race, religion, culture, sexual preference, appearance, background or a person.
  4. Content may not contain language perceived as threatening, inciting violence or encouraging, endorsing, approving or recommending the performance of dangerous or illegal acts.
  5. Content may not contain language perceived as offensive including profanity.
  6. Content is considered duplicate as it appears multiple times in a perceivably inappropriate way.
  7. Content is considered off-topic or SPAM.
  8. Content contains links to any advertising or illegal material.
  9. Content may not contain image content that is considered graphic as it contains portrayals of (for example) acts of violence, hate speech, terrorism, pornography, racism or self-harm.

We reserve the right to edit or remove any content (whether in whole or part) in our sole discretion that has been posted on the platform.

3. Moderation process

Social Pinpoint’s moderators perform an initial assessment of any content submitted by users against the moderation rules. If they believe the content doesn't meet the moderation rules or feel uncertain whether the content is appropriate, they'll refer it to the department for further review. Employees of the department are responsible for making the final decision to approve or reject it.

In some cases, you may notice that content you previously submitted and that was once posted, is no longer visible on the platform. This removal is only temporary until the department has had the opportunity to review the content to ensure it complies with the moderation rules. If your content is rejected (whether in whole or in part), you will receive notification of this via email from the department or from Social Pinpoint.

4. Changes to this Personal Information Collection Notice:
